When Mr. Roger & Ms. Ruth moved to TN, we were some of Lori’s friends who helped moved them into their home. As we were unpacking, Mr. Roger asked who liked clocks. Well, my daughter Ava loved clocks and so she eagerly listened as he instructed her on how to set up clocks after they had been moved. They spent the afternoon together working on a few of his many clocks. After that, he gave her a cuckoo clock and a Regulator. He told her to take them apart and put them back together, and to come back to him with any problems. She did what he said, learning how to disassemble and reassemble clocks, and found she loved it! We are grateful for the impact Mr. Roger has had on our, and especially Ava’s life and for the short time of knowing him as an extended grandpa. He is precious to us and we will miss him very much.

Roger was simply one of the sweetest people I ever got the privilege of meeting. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to know Roger long, but in what little time I did get to know him I will cherish. I looked forward to each day that Roger would be at camp to mow. I loved being able to take him either a sprite or lemonade, since he didn’t much care for water, while he was mowing. This gave me the opportunity to have a brief, but precious conversation with him. I loved hearing the words, “Hey hun, how ya doin?” in his New York accent. He always wore a smile and truly exemplified the love of Christ. He spoke so kindly to Lori everytime he was in the office and you could tell he loved his people well. Roger will be missed, but I am rejoicing in knowing he is whole!

I was Roger’s neighbor in Hamburg. The very first day I met him he noticed I was struggling to pick up leaves. He came over and told me he would pick them up if I wanted and we immediately became friends. He did so much to help me, even when I didn’t ask. They just don’t make people like him anymore. Prayers for Ruth and the family.
